NOCHS’ vital needs increase during these unprecedented times.

100 years ago, emerging from the Spanish Flu, the community established NOCHS to ensure its safety. Now, a century later, as we navigate through another grand-scaled pandemic, NOCHS needs the community’s energy and investment behinds us in the exact same way.

First, we need you to use our services and encourage your circle of influence to do so, as well. It’s all here – comprehensive excellence, made convenient. This choice is the surest strategy to ensure access to safe, personalized care at NOCHS remains available, always.

Second, please consider making a financial donation to our Vital Needs Fund so we may continue to stay strong – not only in the event of a potential surge yet this fall, but also well into the further with our full-continuum intact. The Loutit Foundation has made this ask far easier by generously offering a $100,000 matching grant to NOCHS, but we need your help to get us there.

While our revenue is slowly returning, and have received some federal support, we will never recover the loss, or even come close. That has left much needed capital equipment for direct patient care, which was budgeted for earlier this year, but is now unfunded in the wake of unexpected COVID-related expenses. If one thing has become clear in this moment, it is that the ability to care for a community in place is critical not only to quality of life, but also basic safety. Our work is vital and needed more now than at any time in our history.

As this community’s hospital, North Ottawa Community Health System is doing more than just reacting to change. We are leading our community through it and need your support to continue this charge.

Despite losing millions in revenue during the shutdown, NOCHS established the first (and only sustained) COVID-19 test collection site in Grand Haven because we know that data is the key to keeping our community open. We are also working directly with large employers on testing and broader workplace safety. And we’ve leveraged our expertise with everything from straight-forward public information campaigns to launching creative collaborations like the “For The Love Of Grand Haven” to increase mask compliance. We are making a difference because this is, and has always been, our mission.

We remain grateful and at-the-ready. And we thank you in advance for your advocacy and financial support.
